Workshop: Developing Your Theory of Change (registration closed)

March 4 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Please note: Registration for this workshop is now closed.

Civic tech practitioners sometimes struggle to articulate how their product or project connects to social impact. A theory of change is a model that helps organizations and communities understand their path to impact and so focus their activities. When crafted well, it serves as a strategic blueprint for achieving the change that we want, answering key questions like: who are your people? What is the problem you’re addressing? And what is your goal?

In this 3-hour workshop led by facilitator, campaigner, and digital engagement specialist Amara Possian, we’ll introduce the theory of change framework, guide hands-on application, and set participants up for continued refinement of their theory of change.

By the end of this workshop, you will:

– Understand the theory of change framework and how it applies for your work
– Have a draft theory of change and tips for further refinement

This workshop is ideal for civic tech project leaders and teams and early-stage civic tech startups looking for hands-on learning. While registration is open, we will give preference to participants who are 1) currently working on a project or product that 2) addresses a local challenge.

Workshop cost: $25 per participant, but we have a limited number of free spots if cost is a barrier.

Please note: Registration for this workshop is now closed. Feel free to email us with questions: shea@codefor.ca
