How can we improve the way governments buy technology?

At Civic Hall Toronto, we’ve noticed that conversations about government innovation often turn into conversations about procurement. The way governments buy things–especially digital things–can make innovation difficult. But procurement can also be a powerful tool for enabling greater collaboration between the public and private sectors, and for bringing practices like agile development and usability testing into government.

On October 26, Civic Hall Toronto is hosting a special event for government members that’s all about procurement. We’ll hear from public servants from across the GTA who will share case studies and on-the-ground examples of procurement reform and innovation, with a focus on alternative models for procuring technology.
